HARWICH FESTIVAL PROGRAMME

Once again a varied programme of events is planned SEE PROGRAMME 2009 tab at left hand side.  Harwich Festival Programmes, with more details of events and performers, may be obtained from early June from various outlets around the town including the Dovercourt Library.

 

This year's Harwich Festival celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the founding of the Harwich Society .
Responsible for many projects of restoration around Harwich and Dovercourt, full details can be found at www.harwich-society.co.uk  Also the 70th Anniversary of the Kindertransport when during 1938/9 ten thousand Jewish children found refuge in Britain from Nazi oppression, most of them arriving in Harwich and were housed in the town until homes were found for them.
